The Cubanometer game is developed independently by Grupo N! Val. It is a very simple application, in essence a game of questions and answers related to Cuban culture. It contains 1000 questions and you must reach a total of 5000 points to complete it as a good Cuban.
It is inspired by the popular "surveys to self-evaluate Cubania" or "Cubanity Test" that circulated by email among Cubans from all over the world, descendants of Cubans and interested in Cuban culture. These surveys contained more than 300 questions compiled over the years thanks to the contribution and collaboration of various people. From the cataloged as version number 13.6, questions were selected to include in this application. Important referents in the development of the game were the work in the linguistic matters of doctors Fernando Ortiz, Catauro de Cubanismo -which Ortiz described as a "rhyme of cubicherías" -, and Juan Marinello, a guacalito of Cubanisms.
From a work of creation, selection and edition made by our editor Claudia Borrajo del Toro, a graduate in History at the Faculty of Philosophy and History of the University of Havana, with the support of some collaborators and suggestions of players, many new questions were created that cover various elements of Cuban culture and popular Cuban knowledge to the present day. The same will find questions associated with old phrases or traditions, which questions regarding a television program of today. Example: What do I like Marieta does? Or who is Elpidio Valdés?
In principle, if you are Cuban, it will be easy for you to answer many questions, which may have a greater or lesser degree of difficulty depending on the age you have or your experience.
Now, if you are not Cuban, you will spend more work, depending on whether or not you have been in Cuba, or how much you know about Cuba. The good news is that, without a doubt, you will learn.
With this game, you can have a good time and relive good memories. With each question you will see four possible answers, if you answer correctly, you will go to the next. According to the number of questions you answer successfully, it will be your place in the world ranking. As you can see, it is very simple in its basic concept; Although with your help, in the future it will have another group of extra functionalities and alternative games that will enrich the experience of users.
