Playing SixtySix Champion is fun! SixtySix Champion is a game for one person against the computer.
Sixty-six is regarded to be a simple card game for children but it is very appealing. In my opinion its charm is based on the transition from uncertainty at game start to total countability at the end. Is the car deck depleted then all cards of the opponent player are known.
Computers have an advantage in calculable situations. They do not miscalculate or forget cards. So SiytySix Champion plays quite strong, particularly in the end game. It is not fun to loose in the majority of cases. Therefor SixtySix Champion offers four player types:
- Beginner: The App simulates miscalculation and forgets cards in the end game. There are no plans for more than one trick. Nevertheless the app plays strong enough to challenge a beginner.
- Advanced: Plays a little bit better than the beginner.
- Expert: The app still makes failures in calculations and forgets cards, but with lower probability. Additionally it uses in some situation plans comprising more then one trick. This is the recommended level for experienced, good players.
- Champion: Very strong playing. It is hard to beat the app in the end game. To win a high level of concentration and good cards are prerequisites. I believe to be a very strong player. But I loose
approximately 2/3 of the games.
For the support of the players SixtySix Champion has options as point counting, playing with open cards, or getting proposals from the computer.
The game is played with 20 cards. For each color these are Ace (A) , Ten (10) , King (K) , Queen (O), and Jack (U). Winner is who reaches 66 points first and announce this. Depending on the points earned already by the opponent the winner gets 1 to 3 Bommel. With 7 Bommel the game round is won. The rules of Sixty-six are rather simple. SixtySix Champion uses rules similar to the Schnapsen variant of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixty-six_(card_game) . If no player announces 66 then the winner of the last trick wins the game.
